About Me

"Julia Rose a New York native was born to Dominican immigrants in The Bronx. She grew up in the salon ambiance every weekend at a very young age, roller sets and a neat blow dry was predominantly what she knew about salon life. After years of not being understood and also having developed an appreciation for the trade she enrolled in beauty school in 2006 to peruse a cosmetology license. Upon graduating she landed a job opportunity at Rumor Salon in the east village owned by former Vidal Sassoon professionals here she had a vigorous training in cutting precision lines and voluminous blow dries along with a side of delightful scalp massages at the shampoo bowl. After the 2008 financial crisis Rumor went out of business and Julia worked as a freelancer for a couple of years doing private house calls, editorials and volunteering. In 2010 she landed a job at Devachan Salon in Soho, where she trained and assisted with classes for 4 years. During her time at Deva she became experienced in understanding various textures as well as many hair concerns. Thanks to her extensive training at Deva Julia was able to build her client relationships while learning the importance of a clean air concept and natural organic products at Hale salon in Tribeca. Now Julia opens welcomes you into her very own space her Secret Garden."
